Connor –growing in the community
As it’s National Volunteers Week, this is a perfect opportunity to recognise and celebrate the fantastic achievements of one of our residents.
Since moving in as a new tenant, Connor has been very keen to get involved and improve the communal spaces where he lives and is regularly seen doing odd jobs to keep the garden area tidy.
This is no mean feat as the gardens are large and have a number of beds which Connor keeps on top of by weeding and pruning year round.
Following major works carried out by BCH, Connor approached BCH staff to ask if he could do more to improve the flats and the garden area. He is even keen to paint the communal stairwells!
He is also instrumental in getting his neighbours on board and encouraging them to roll up their sleeves all in an effort to continue to improve and develop the area for all residents.
Having gained a wealth of knowledge and qualifications from Myerscough College, Connor also provides invaluable support and advice to the increasing number of volunteers who help out in the @TheGrange community garden.
The difference this person has made has been phenomenal and even more striking, given the current situation we all find ourselves in.
Thank you Connor!
