Yesterday, Molyneux Drive Friends and Neighbours turned back the years for a Dreamboats and Petticoats Afternoon Tea, a fundraiser for Macmillan Nurses.

The Community Centre was packed with over 40 people of all ages, enjoying 50’s and 60’s music, some having dressed for the occasion in period fashion. Vice Chair Maude Todd looked wonderful as a teeny bopper, the Argent family (dad Les is Chair of Molyneux Drive Friends and Neighbours) were like a scene from the iconic film Grease, and Secretary Viv turned into a hippie for the afternoon.

At 4.30pm everyone went outside and blew bubbles to celebrate the life of, the memory of, and the loving of someone special to them. It was very moving watching the bubbles being blown by people from 8 – 92 years of age.

The event raised £650 for Macmillan Nurses and Molyneux Drive Friends and Neighbours added a further £50 to make the total donated to £700.

Thanks to everyone who turned out and donated so generously.
