As part of our commitment to provide good quality accommodation across our housing stock, our Programmed Work and Assets Team has been working in partnership with local contractor Bambers to complete major improvement works at Sandhurst Avenue.

The last few months has seen the facade of the 3 storey building completely refurbished with new external render; providing a sleek, modern look and reducing future maintenance requirements. Other aspects involved in the improvement works included:

  • Windows – new lintels installed along with the fitting of new PVCu windows
  • External walls – the corroding steel Brick-Tor was removed and a new outer leaf to the external wall was constructed in blockwork. Also involved was the introduction of new cavity wall ties and mineral wool cavity wall insulation.
  • External soffits & timber fascias – soffits were removed by licensed contractor in accordance with the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012. New PVCu soffit boards and rainwater pipes have been fitted and the timber fascias were repaired/replaced where required.
