Let’s be…More Positive Together
The More Positive Together (MPT) programme is a £4 million project designed to address the needs of Lancashire residents who are furthest from the labour market and to help them improve their employment prospects.
The project is part of the 2014-2020 European Structural and Investment Funds Growth Programme in England and will work with 16 partners to engage a minimum of 2250 people aged 15+ between now and December 2019.
MPT brings together Social Housing Organisations from across Lancashire, with Blackpool Coastal Housing offering the largest volume of vacancies, with a combined portfolio of over 61,220 properties located in the 20% most deprived Lower Super Output Areas (LSOA’s) in Lancashire. The programme will aim to reach out to those furthest from the labour market, initially providing intense 1 to 1 support, then progressing to a wider engagement offer of sports, environmental and arts activities. The partnerships will deliver a programme of opportunities to get involved in work experience, volunteering and training which will help them to be more prepared for employment.
A launch day was held recently at the Village Hotel in Blackpool on 15th November to showcase the project, highlight goals and objectives and provide relevant information on the referral process and eligibility. It also gave our partnering agencies the opportunity to share information on and promote their services.
The More Positive Together project will offer eligible residents a tailored programme of one-to-one mentoring, physical activity sessions, training courses, employment advice and work experience opportunities.
